Covenant is the third official full-length album by death metal band Morbid Angel. It was released on June 22, 1993.
This album represented Morbid Angel’s first foray into the “mainstream”, being signed onto Giant Records and having
the music video for “God of Emptiness” shown on Beavis and Butt-head. The style is more akin to the slower drawlings
of the previous album Blessed are the Sick, but darker and more disturbing in approach.

Much of the lyrics, written by David Vincent, could be considered Morbid Angel’s most evil and Satanic.

N*E*R*D (pronounced ‘en ee are dee’, but also often referred to as simply ‘nerd’) is the name of a alternative rock band
consisting of Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo of The Neptunes and their friend Shay Haley.
Their music is best described as funk/rock, with various other influences, including soul music, hip hop music, and blues rock.
Pharrell explains; “What is a N*E*R*D? N*E*R*D stands for No one Ever Really Dies. The Neptunes are who we are and N*E*R*D is what we do.
It’s our life. N*E*R*D is just a basic belief, man. People’s energies are made of their souls. When you die, that energy may disperse but
it isn’t destroyed.”

The band recorded its second album Fly or Die during 2003. The band actually learned to play the tunes live, as Chad Hugo told MTV News
on December 9, 2003: “We’re the ones playing the instruments live this time. “I just started playing guitar last year so I’m learning as we go.
Pharrell’s playing drums. [Last time] we didn’t have time to learn certain instruments so we got Spymob to help us out.”
Several of the tracks discuss issues of particular concern to adolescents, for example “Thrasher”, which is about bullies and street violence;
“Drill Sergeant”, about rebellion and war, “Backseat Love”, which talks about first love, and “Maybe” talked about a first time break up.

To Hell with the Devil is the fourth release, and third full-length album, from the Christian metal band Stryper,
released in 1986. It was both the first Contemporary Christian and Christian metal album to achieve Platinum status,
selling over one million copies. It remains the best-selling Christian metal album of all time.
The album was listed at #88 in the 2001 book, CCM Presents: The 100 Greatest Albums in Christian Music. The album was the only Heavy Metal album on the list.
As the band started to record the album, Tim Gaines left the band. He was replaced by bassist Matt Hurich. That failed,
so “session” bassist Brad Cobb took Tim’s place while recording this album.
However, before the tour for it began, Tim Gaines “rejoined” the band.

Who doesn’t know the name INVOCATOR, the Danish Thrashers already had been in existence from 1989 to 1995. Then they took a “small break” of seven years, but since 2002 the gentlemen are back around. In the line-up of Jacob Hansen (vocals/guitars), Flemming C. Lund (lead guitars), Carsten Mikkelsen (bass) and Jakob Gundel (drums) the band released its fourth longplayer “Through The Flesh To The Soul” in 2003.
You really don’t hear that the Danes had been away for that long. On “Through The Flesh To The Soul” they deliver fast, but also modern Thrash Metal. Songs such as the title track or “Infatuated I Am (Speak To Me)” go into the ear right away and take you with them through their cool riffs. Unfortunately not all the songs are like that. Basically you could draw a line after the sixth song. That should not mean that the other five songs are not good anymore, but they are less to the point. Tracks like “The Chemistry Of Restlessness” or “Under The Skin” basically are very good, but are a bit bulky and maybe also a but too long. With that the band proves that they are very adept at their instruments, but that takes away from the songs. Apart from that everything is good on “Through The Flesh To The Soul”. The Sound is very good and modern. INVOCATOR prove that Thrash Metal does not have to sound old fashioned to really smash. The good sound, of course, gives the riff attacks an additional intensity.

You really have to hold it for INVOCATOR that they have stayed true to their style even after seven years of a hiatus. Only few Thrash Metal bands have managed overall to survive without trying to take up some trends or other genres. Break or no, INVOCATOR are among those bands, even though they sound more modern as for example EXODUS, SODOM or DESTRUCTION. May I quote the info sheet: “INVOCATOR are not just a thing from the past - INVOCATOR are a band for the future”! Let’s wait and see. With “Through The Flesh To The Soul” the Danes have put down a good foundation for their new start. If the guys manage to get a bit faster and a bit more direct in the future, then we should hear a lot from them still.

A tribute album by various artists as a tribute to the Ramones. It started when Johnny Ramone was confronted with the idea of a tribute album and was asked if he wanted to participate, to which he agreed, as long as he would have full control over the project. He was able to get Rob Zombie as a co-producer, and call upon different bands to participate. Rob Zombie also did the cover artwork, and Stephen King, a Ramones fan, wrote the liner notes.

One of the last things Johnny Ramone did was oversee the album. He told all the chosen bands to do a version totally unlike the Ramones originals. Johnny liked the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ cover of “Havana Affair” so much that he chose to open the album with it.

Hits! - The Very Best Of Erasure was the second greatest hits package released by the group.
Capitalizing on a resurgence of Erasure music after their successful covers album Other People’s Songs,
Mute Records released Hits! in 2003 to reintroduce people to Erasure’s music and to give an update to their 1992
singles compilation Pop! - the First 20 Hits. In fact, Hits! seemed to be geared towards casual fans who did not
already own a copy of Pop!, as twelve songs appear on both collections.
Since the release of Pop! Erasure had released fifteen more singles, but only six of them appeared on Hits!.
In addition, two additional songs from the Abba-esque EP were added to the lineup, as well as a new remix of the
classic “Oh L’amour,” originally found on their 1986 debut album Wonderland.
To entice Erasure completists to purchase the Hits! set, limited copies of the album contained a bonus CD containing
an “Erasure Megamix,” consisting of eighteen of their classic songs (including “You Surround Me”, the only song not on the main album)
strung together in a DJ-mixed form. A few are the basic single mixes, but most of them consist of well known dance remixes done at the
time of their respective releases; in particular, additional vocals from remixes of “Love to Hate You” and “Sometimes” were included.
Hits! was repackaged and reissued in the UK on October 29, 2007. This new version includes the same two discs as the original release,
along with a DVD containing 35 Erasure music videos. These are the same videos which were released on the Hits! the Videos in 2003.
